The Reason for the Season: The Ultimate Gift

This is a great time of the year where we celebrate in song, dance, fellowship, and worship for this opportunity that we have been given. The power of one that came on assignment to accomplish what no one else could, simply because he was born to this. This one that we refer to is known by many names. When we read the Holy Bible we find that he is called Jesus, Emmanuel which is God with us, The Bread of Life, The Prince of Peace, The True Vine, and The Son of God. This celebration that we are in is about the ultimate gift that has been given to us from God who is also The Father. God saw us and looked at what we were doing and decided to help us. That help came through the pathway of the one we celebrate on Christmas Day, Jesus. He is like a key that gives access to the ultimate gift of all, a redeemed life prepared for and ready for eternity. It is like a meeting and we get to be introduced to his Father. He gives us a relationship that cannot be broken. He gives us access to the Ultimate Giver. And no one can give more than God.

Run-Walk Time: A Good Way To Stay Fit, But First Take Off The Electronic Gear

Let’s face it, we spend a lot of time in front of our computers or on our smart phones surfing the internet.  And some of us like to listen to music while working out. There is nothing wrong with that. But because we spend so much time at work and at home attached to electronic devices, our exercise time should be focused on getting our minds refreshed.  Working out outside in the park or at a local school or community college track field, allows us to get out into the open air and clear away some of the clutter in our minds. Running and walking is a good way to stay fit and mentally refresh your mind. Running allows you to get your heart pumping and your lungs inhaling the fresh air. And Walking after running keeps you from over exerting yourself and allows the body to rest in intervals.

If there are a lot of trees in the area where you run- walk, then take the time to enjoy the trees or flowers that surrounds you while you do your exercise routine. Enjoy the sound of the birds chirping, dogs barking or even the sound of crickets. Take the time to enjoy nature while you run-walk.
